Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to go to Parkway for my kid to come to camp?
 - No!  We are happy to welcome all kids (rising 1st graders - 6th graders) from the Roanoke valley to summer camp this year!  And - if you don't have a church home, you are ALWAYS welcome to join us online or in person any Sunday!
Do you offer a discount for registering multiple kids or for multiple camps?
 - No, we do not.  Our camp is intentionally priced lower than other options in the valley to help provide an affordable experience for families with multiple kids.  We do, however, offer Mega Sports VEBS Camp the week of June 14 -18 9am - noon with no camp fee.  Please note that the after care charge is different that week.
How do you mitigate COVID-19 at your camps?
 - The well-being of our staff and campers is very important to us.  We make every effort to follow published safety guidelines.  As we always do, we work to keep our camp facilities cleaned and sanitized 2 times daily.  Our camp facilities are professionally cleaned every week.  We encourage handwashing often with our campers and provide hand sanitizer stations for campers and staff.  We will do our best to encourage physical distancing, but not all activities will allow for distance at all times.  Our camp staff asks that parents perform a wellness check at home each morning, and if your child is ill, that they not attend camp that day.
I work during the day, is there a before / after care option?
 - Yes!  We offer Early Drop-off and Late Pick-up options for an additional fee.  During those times we will have supervised activities for your child.  Please email [email protected] for more details.
What will my kid be doing at camp?
 - Depending on the theme of the camp, your child will be taking part in themed activities, games, workshops, hands-on activities and more.  We will be active, and your child may come home dirty from enjoying a day of fun.  Please send them to camp in clothing and shoes that allow them to be active and enjoy their day.  Some camps, like Inspire Dance and Performing Arts will work toward a Friday evening showcase - so there will be lots of things to keep everyone happy and busy all day!
Who is running the camp?
Our children's ministry staff along with trained assistants will be running our camps.  When available, we like to get members of the community with special training or talents to lead our camps.  Each camp director and adult assistant go though a background check along with camp leadership training.
I registered my kid for a week of camp, and now I found out we will be out of town.  Can I get a refund?
- Yes!  Please contact Christine Phillips (our Camp Administrative Director) through the church office at (540) 342-3968 x 104.  She will assist with you with your refund.  You can also email us at [email protected]
Do I have to pay the $25 registration fee for every week of camp?
No.  We ask for a non-refundable $25 registration fee per child (paid only once per summer) to cover the costs of our camper packet and gift swag (t-shirt, water bottle, backpack, etc.) we give to each child.  MEGA Sports Camp will be different due to no camp fee.
What payment types do you offer?
You can register through the link above and securely pay through our online registration process.  If you need to pay in cash or with a check, you can come to the church office in person (M-Th 9am - 4pm) to register and pay.
Do I have to pay for the camp in full when I register?
 - While you do have that option to pay in full, you may also put a down payment of $25 per camp when you register.  Camp (and extra fees) must be paid in full before the first day of that week's camp.  Registration for the camp will be closed the Friday before camp begins.
Other Questions?
 - Please email [email protected] and we will be happy to answer your questions regarding camp?
